A Year to Remember at the InOrbit Robot Space

By Team InOrbit

It was February 2023 when the InOrbit Robot Space opened its doors and what a journey it has been! In the span of a year, this space has transformed from a bold idea into a hub of technological innovation and community engagement. As we celebrate our first anniversary, we're thrilled to reflect on the incredible milestones we've achieved together and look forward to the exciting possibilities ahead.

To say a SaaS robotics company opening a physical storefront is unusual is a serious understatement. As a robot showcase, the space offers a glimpse into how robots, smart infrastructure, and automation technologies collaborate with each other and people to enhance productivity across various industries, including retail, hospitality, warehouse, and logistics. Over the past year, we've facilitated more than 250 customer demos, and managed a staggering 30,000+ hours of active robot operations with InOrbit.

The opportunity to demonstrate the true power of RobOps with a live multi-vendor robot fleet and supporting technologies that can execute collaborative missions has been a highlight. These demos have brought the sometimes complex concepts to orchestration to life, through live incident management, traffic optimization, or data-informed missions.

Weโ€™ve forged partnerships with industry leaders like OTTO Motors by Rockwell Automation, and WiBotic, adding their technologies as important parts of the RobOps story. InOrbit roboteers and on-site operations have used their skills to manage a live highly dynamic heterogeneous robot fleet, pushing our technology further than ever. In this way the InOrbit Robot Space is a robot playground, a science lab and a touchstone for the practical integration of autonomous technologies.

The Robot Space has also taken center stage at events like ProMat and Automate, showcasing the latest advancements in automation technology to audiences around the world.

More recently as InOrbit integrates advanced robot simulations into the platform, the Robot Space has been translated into a dynamic photo-realistic simulated environment.

But the Robot Space is more than just a showcase for automation technologies. It's a concept store and a vibrant hub for the Mountain View community. We are committed to demystifying robotics, to connecting with the people who make up our industry and educating the public. This year the Robot Space hosted over 30 community events with thousands of attendees in collaboration with organizations like Women in Robotics, the Homebrew Robotics Club, Silicon Valley Robotics, SuperTech FT, and the Robot Operations Group to name just a few.

Some of the highlights have to include the WIR event to kick off Womenโ€™s History Month, our weeklong celebration of National Robotics Week, SuperTech FTโ€™s AI and Robotics summer camp Space Race program,  and our first Tech Together event which gave us a chance to celebrate amazing women making waves in the robotics community. These ongoing events connect us with the community, provide insightful, inspiring moments and give us a great excuse to eat more pizza with friends. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•

And what's an anniversary without a celebration? We're thrilled to announce that the InOrbit Robot Space has expanded โ€“ tripling in size! This expansion means more room to showcase ecosystem partners, cutting-edge robots, and exciting automation technology.

As we look ahead, the future of the Robot Space looks brighter than ever. With our expanded space and a calendar full of exciting events, demos, and partnerships, InOrbit is poised to continue driving innovation, collaboration, and community in the robotics industry.

At our recent anniversary celebration, we raised a glass to another year to come โ€“ one that is sure to be full of excitement, growth, and opportunity at the InOrbit Robot Space. Thank you for being a part of this remarkable journey! ๐ŸŽ‰
